The Waterproof Parka Is Everywhere This Spring

by MR Magazine Staff

It’s time to (finally!) pack up the bulky coats, but that doesn’t mean you don’t need something handy to ward off the inevitable crummy weather that comes with winter’s end. And one of the trendiest things on the spring runways was the waterproof parka, de-puffed and made of lightweight material like nylon or treated cotton. Prada’s nomad-inspired collection had it, as did the Versace collection, which focused on athletic shapes and movement — thus, the billowing knee-length parkas. The best thing about this waterproof parka trend du jour is how damn easy it is to incorporate it into your wardrobe. In fact, if you see rain clouds on the horizon, just toss one of these oversize guys on over whatever you’re wearing and bam, you’re all set. Should the storm pass by? Just crumple these guys up and toss them in your bag, no need to worry about wrinkles. Does it get much easier than that? See more at GQ.
