On September 11, Visvim presented its WMV spring/summer 2016 collection, and Japanese designer Hiroki Nakamura once again showed his facility to dazzle with everything from brightly colored denim jackets and “long shirts” in gorgeous hues of blue and green to cleverly stenciled sweatshirts, kimono-styled jackets and new takes on his long-popular line of signature footwear. Highlights of the new collection included a magnificent printed jacket with a hand-sketched seashell design based on shells actually found on the beach by Nakamura and his young daughter; a stunning raw silk blazer in deep blue flecked with real good threads; and shirts that used Pendleton blanket fabrics as the inspiration for pockets and patches.

While Visivim continues to manufacture its beloved FBT boot, the new collection also includes footwear in deerskin leather inspired by First Nations moccasins (there was even a cobbler on hand to demonstrate the making of the company’s shoes) and the Roland Jogger, a sneaker made from Swedish suede, mesh and leather.

The Visvim line is distributed in the U.S. in such stores as Barneys, Jeffrey, Union, Maxfield and Carson Street Clothiers.
