Italian luxury brand Valentino stepped out on Wednesday, June 21 to debut its spring/summer 2018 collection at the Hôtel Particulier d’Iéna in Paris.

This collection was heavily influenced by a sports-meets-atelier aesthetic, where it explores the coming together of those two worlds of fashion.

Looking to the street to discover a new perspective on everyday life, the new collection aims to welcome diversity of the modern world.

A wardrobe of sporty staples was built this season, with standout items included: anoraks, track jackets, chinos, running shoes, and yes, even fanny packs (look for more on this trend in our upcoming July print issue).

And, as with many collections this season, volume was added to the silhouettes of the garments to create a relaxed look, while nylon, cotton, and acetate were used to reinforce the sport aspect of the new season. Color was also important, with hues of blue, pink, green and red running throughout the collection.
