Norwegian lifestyle brand Swims has appointed Andy Wyss as its global marketing director. Boasting 15 years of experience in the international fashion and lifestyle space, Wyss will be responsible for creating and leading Swims’ global marketing efforts and cementing its position as a major player within the lifestyle space.

Wyss will be based at the company’s U.S. headquarters in Long Beach, California. He will be responsible for creating and implementing the company’s global marketing strategy and will engage and collaborate with a team off top tier brand, communications and content agencies from around the world.

Wyss joins following a six-year stint at beauty advertising agency, Select World in New York, where he led the company’s global re-brand and coordinated marketing efforts across seven offices and 300+ employees. Prior to that, he was head of PR and marketing at Pina di Falco Fashion Agency in Zurich, Switzerland.

“I believe in the Swims story and I’m excited about building a brand eco-system, that works both globally and locally and grows with the same pace and passion as the company itself,” said Wyss. “Swims has all the foundations of a significant, year-round, global brand – a strong purpose, an incredible, expanding product range and some of the best talent in the business. I jumped at the opportunity to support Jake Brandman, Swims’ global president, in taking the company to the next level.

Wyss continued, “My tasks: refining and deploying brand identity, connecting with our consumers with optimized digital experiences and seeing the brand come to life in our first brick-and-mortar store later this year.”

“We’ve dedicated the past year to establishing a strong base for growth by refining all touch points – from operations and e-commerce, to procurement and quality control – and creating an unparalleled leadership team. Building our marketing capabilities was the final piece,” added Jake Brandman, global president of Swims. “With the addition of Wyss, we can unify and communicate Swims’ unique positioning around the world and strengthen our position as a global lifestyle brand that represents and talks to the modern man.”

Swims was founded in Oslo in 2006 and reached fame with its reinvention of the classic rubber galosh. Since then, Swims has expanded its range to include footwear, outerwear and accessories for the modern man. It is currently stocked in 30 markets globally, including high-end departments stores Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Printemps, and KaDeWe.
