Detroit-based design brand Shinola will open its newest location in DUMBO, Brooklyn, in the newly constructed Empire Stores complex on Saturday, April 15.

The 2,651-square-foot store, located at 49 Water Street, was designed in collaboration with New York-based design studio Gachot Studios, the award-winning design studio based in New York, who’s work includes Shinola’s LA Arts District store and the upcoming Shinola Hotel (opening late 2018).

The store will offer the brand’s full lineup of watches, leather, jewelry, bikes, and its customizable watch bar – The Willard Program. Also unique to this location, the brand will house the fifth location (and first in Brooklyn) of Smile To Go, the iconic New York eatery by Matt Kliegman and Carlos Quirarte.

To help kick off its first weekend in Brooklyn, the brand will host a block party on Saturday, April 15 to celebrate the opening, as well as the launch of our Jackie Robinson watch, with music by special guest DJ Questlove, ballpark eats, and activities. Additionally, 20 percent of the day’s sales will go to Answer the Call, an organization supporting families of fallen service men and women of the NYPD and NYFD.

Shinola Brooklyn marks the brand’s 18th store nationwide, sixth store on the east coast, and second store in New York. The brand will also be opening locations in SoHo, Troy, Denver, and Dallas this spring.
