SAKS FIFTH AVENUE PARTNERS WITH ORIGINAL PENGUIN ON NEW COLLECTION
Saks Fifth Avenue and Original Penguin have launched its newest collaboration, Original Penguin Blue.
The line, which is designed for Spring 2017, consists of approximately a dozen pieces, including wovens in cotton, polyester, viscose and line ($89-98); knits and tees in terry and cotton ($55-$98); a jacquard cotton sweater ($55); trousers in cotton or linen ($165); and stretch Oxford cotton shorts ($98).
“Blue is our highest tier collection. It’s always made using the best fabrics and construction. With the line we always push the limits, whether it be a bold colorful print like we used on the resort shirt or a great fabric like the slightly dressy beach pant in a spring sateen,” says Adam Weir, head of design for Original Penguin. “Saks is a great store that is renowned for its high taste level and elevated aesthetic and we saw some white space in their offering, he continues. “Furthermore, we have a very loyal fan base that is always looking for something to add to their wardrobe and I think that Blue will tempt them. My expectation is that it will make our current customer think differently about the brand but also attract new customers who may have not discovered us yet.”
