Nordstrom says it will begin accepting applications for 1,000 positions for its Pacific Centre, Vancouver store — it’s third in Canada — scheduled to open in September.

The jobs will be in sales positions in various departments, concierge, alterations, building services, housekeeping, loss prevention and in the store’s two restaurants and coffee bar. Nordstrom has already hired 27 sales managers, all of whom are undergoing an 8-week training program.

The 230,000 sq. ft. Pacific Centre store will officially open at 10am on Friday, September 18. It’s the third store the Seattle-based retailer has planned for the Canadian market; a 140,000 sq. ft. store at Chinook Centre in Calgary, Albertaopened last September, followed by a 157,000 sq. ft. store in Rideau Centre in Ottawa, Ontario in March. Two Toronto stores — Yorkdale Centre and Eaton Centre — will open in fall 2016 and a third Toronto store will open in Sherway Gardens in spring 2017.
