Saks Fifth Avenue and Calvin Klein, Inc. will be among the honorees at the 2016 MR Awards dinner Monday, July 18th, at New York’s Gotham Hall. Calvin Klein, Inc. will be celebrated as the Global Brand of the Decade for its recognizable modern aesthetic and its success around the world. Saks Fifth Avenue will be honored for its excellence in luxury retailing, for its marketing and special events, and for its recent bold moves in the U.S. and Canada.

E-retailing pioneer Trunk Club will be saluted for creating an innovative new way for men to shop for quality clothing online. Specialty store powerhouse Miltons gets accolades for combining the best aspects of a high service independent store with a value proposition, allowing it to compete with the national upscale chains.

Vineyard Vines will receive the American Lifestyle Award for creating an iconic brand that exemplifies Casual Coastal Cool. And American designer Joseph Abboud will receive a special Lifetime Achievement award for his many years of success as a designer, manufacturer, retailer, mentor and creative force in the American menswear industry.

“We are so proud and excited about this year’s honorees and their key roles in shaping the current menswear scene,” says MR’s Editor-in-Chief, Karen Alberg Grossman. “Each represents a different aspect of the business; each has attained that difficult balance between staying true to one’s DNA and evolving to be current and relevant. Each has enriched our industry in its own unique way.”

The MR Awards is the largest and most prestigious event on the better menswear calendar, with more than 300 retailers and vendors in attendance. In addition to the new winners, more than 50 past Lifetime Achievement and Hall of Fame honorees are invited to return each year. These include key execs from Harry Rosen, Mitchells, Neiman Marcus, Stanley Korshak, Boyds and dozens of other companies. Last year’s event, honoring Nordstrom, Brunello Cucinelli, Ermenegildo Zegna and John Varvatos, drew more than 450 attendees from every corner of the world.
