Remo Ruffini, chairman and CEO of Moncler, celebrated the launch of 1 Moncler Pierpaolo Piccioli, a collection designed by the creative director of Maison Valentino, with a private cocktail party at The House of Genius on Thursday, October 11 in New York City.

As part of the Moncler Genius Project, Piccioli created graphic shapes that are as mystic as they are futuristic. A-line silhouettes ooze a couture feel while keeping the sense of functionality that is a Moncler pillar. Piccioli worked solely with basic down filled nylon, striping Moncler’s classic duvet to its bare essence.

The celebration took place at The House of Genius, a concept store carrying all eight Genius collections, as well as a series of limited-edition items that the Genius designers have created, curated by Sarah Andelman. Moncler created an interactive space that will be animated by special activities and will remain open through December 30th.

1 Moncler Pierpaolo Piccioli will also be debuting exclusively at Barneys. To celebrate, Barneys’ Daniella Vitale hosted an intimate dinner, with Remo Ruffini, following last evening’s cocktails.

For Moncler Genius, Moncler chose eight innovative designers to interpret the brand’s DNA through their own creative lens. These special collections celebrate and highlight varied voices and approaches from designers including Pierpaolo Piccioli, Francesco Ragazzi, Simone Rocha, Craig Green, Hiroshi Fujiwara and Kei Ninomiya.
