McConnell Promoted at Advanstar
NEW YORK – Laura McConnell has been promoted to the new post of executive vice president of fashion at Advanstar Communications with responsibility for the company’s entire fashion portfolio.
Chris McCabe and Tony Calanca, both previously with Reed Exhibitions, have joined Advanstar as vice president and general manager of the MAGIC International subsidiary and executive vice president of exhibitions, respectively.
McConnell has been vice president and general manager of MAGIC.
“We are excited about the changes we have made to strengthen Advanstar’s senior management team,” said Joe Loggia, chief executive officer of Advanstar, in a statement. “We believe the promotion of Laura along with the additions of Chris and Tony will help accelerate the positive growth trajectory of our events and will position us to continue improving our services to our customers.”
