MAVI NAMES STEVEN SERTNER VP OF SALES FOR NORTH AMERICA
Denim brand Mavi has announced that Steven Sertner has joined the team as vice president of sales for North America. Sertner will oversee major and specialty accounts for the North East, South East and Midwest regions for the brand. He will be based in the brand’s New York corporate office and will report directly to Ardie Ulukaya, senior vice president of sales for Mavi.
Prior to Mavi, Sertner served as vice president, director of sales, and regional sales roles for denim and activewear brands including C&C California Sort, Dollhouse, Silver Jeans, and Buffalo Jeans.
“As Mavi continues to grow and expand every year, we are thrilled to bring on Steven with his extensive background in denim and activewear,” said Ulukaya. “Steven’s solid relationships with major and speciality doors in the US will serve not only as a great foundation to the existing Mavi accounts but further expand Mavi’s reach to more opportunities.”
Mavi has grown over 60 percent in the United States since 2013 and has added and expanded its showrooms in six metropolitan cities where it no longer uses independent sales representatives. The cities where Mavi has its own showroom include New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Miami, and Atlanta. The Los Angeles showroom finished its expansion project in 2015 and is three times the original size. In addition to showroom expansion, Mavi also doubled its warehouse space in 2014 to accommodate its growth.
