Marios SeattleMore than 500 fashion industry luminaries and Seattle movers and shakers were guests at the fabulous grand reopening of legendary specialty store Marios, co-sponsored by Ermenegildo Zegna. The evening was a perfect blend of fun and fashion, of Pacific Northwest food and drink with a slice of Italian exuberance and style. Affirms Gildo Zegna, “We are proud to play a leading part in this new chapter of Marios and unveil a modernized Ermenegildo Zegna shop in this beautifully restyled store.”

In fact, the gorgeous new Zegna shop (only the third in the world and timed perfectly for their debut season with new artistic director Alessandro Sartori) is just one of many new retail concepts at Marios. Others include exceptional European-designed expanded men’s and women’s shops for Brunello Cucinelli and Loro Piana, and impactful menswear boutiques for Isaia and Eton.

Other changes at the new Marios include a dramatic women’s space that has doubled in size and added numerous new designers, an expanded shoe and handbag department (offering four times the selection), and a world-class main floor jewelry department featuring the most desired artisan designers and 15 emerging stars.

Marios Seattle“I’ve dreamed about this for years,” confides owner Mario Bisio, who has expanded and transformed his store numerous times since it opened in 1982. “I’m known to need a 12-step program for chronic remodelers. Fortunately, our partnership with the Mitchell family has allowed my dream to become reality. Our goal here was to remove walls and open up the space to create a truly remarkable shopping experience, including a grand staircase, luxurious dressing parlors, custom-designed fixtures and much more. That we did it in five months while staying open is amazing!”

Bob Mitchell, a co-owner of the Mitchells Family of Stores, agrees. “Not only did we stay open through the renovations but we experienced double digit sales increases in the process. Clearly, we believe Seattle has tremendous growth potential. Along with a major investment in our website, we remain big believers in the in-store experience and the magic that happens with the power of the new.”

Concludes renowned Italian designer Brunello Cucinelli, whose space at Marios has doubled with the renovation, “The Marios brand has pioneered their vision in specialty retail through their ability to build relationships based on trust, dignity and respect. I couldn’t be more honored to be part of a family whose soulful foundation and deep connection give me both inspiration and gratitude.”
