Macy’s East to be MR Retailer of the Year
The merchandising team of Macy’s East, led by VP/GMM Kevin Morrissey, will be saluted as Retailer of the Year in MR’s November issue. This is the first time they have received the honor and, according to MR Editor Karen Alberg, it comes at the perfect moment.
“All the elements are coming together for Macy’s East this year,” according to Alberg. As the original and largest division of Macy’s Inc., formerly Federated Department Stores, it is Macy’s East that will be in focus in 2008 as the company celebrates its founding 150 years ago. They are currently undergoing a complete renovation of the men’s third floor in the Herald Square flagship, the world’s larget store. The merchants have demonstrated creativity, resilience and determination in maintaining their leadership in a shifting market.
The November issue of MR, in which the entire Macy’s East menswear team will be profiled, will break in late October.
