LUBIAM WINS 2016 PITTI IMMAGINE UOMO AWARD

The ninetieth edition of Pitti Uomo opened in a special way for Lubiam last night. The company, which has participated in the Fair since the first edition, 45 years ago, has won the 2016 Pitti Immagine Uomo Award.

Giovanni Bianchi, CEO and Style Director of the company, received the award at Pitti’s opening ceremony held at the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence.

“We are proud to receive this important award,” said Bianchi. “It is a great honor for us to be chosen among all the companies participation in the Fair. As you know, Pitti Immagine Uomo is fundamental for our company life. I would like to share this significant moment with my father Giuliano, with all our family and with all the people – more than 300 –operating with us with passion and commitment, making Lubiam success possible.”

Today, even though Lubiam is an internationally successful company, its basic principles are still the same: fine craftsmanship combined with excellent design and the latest technologies. It is the essence of the best of Made in Italy applied to four, very different collections (L.B.M.1911, Luigi Bianchi Mantova Sartoria, Giozubon, Lubiam 1911 Cerimonia) that are all coherent with the basic philosophy.

Lubiam ended 2015 with an 11 percent rise in turnover with respect to the previous year, a trend that is continuing now in 2016, and the company increased its staff by 10 percent. Exports account for 45 percent of its sales, with the greater portion going to the United States, then to France, Japan, Switzerland, Canada, Netherlands and Russia. The company is still based in its historic headquarters and is still managed by the Bianchi family – a record that not many businesses can boast of: the chairman is Giuliano and he works with his children Edgardo, Giovanni, Giulia and Gabriele and his grandson, Andrea, who are all devoted to perpetuating Lubiam’s original values.
