Liberty LondonIconic British department store Liberty London has announced the appointment of Adil Mehboob-Khan as chief executive officer.

Mehboob-Khan was previously CEO of Luxottica, president of Wella and senior executive at Procter & Gamble.

“Few, if any companies have Liberty London’s rich and storied heritage,” said Mehboob-Khan. “With its landmark central London store, unique fabrics business and exclusive Liberty London collection, this national Icon has significant global potential – I am thrilled to join at such an exciting time.”

Marco Capello, chairman of Liberty London and managing partner of BlueGem Capital Partners, added: “We have been searching for an individual of Adil’s calibre for some time and are excited to welcome a person with broad experience across beauty, brand and retail to drive us to the next level.”

Found in 1875 from the adventurous and disruptive spirit of Arthur Lasenby Liberty, the brand has remained true to its heritage and has become famed for its print, fabrics, and design.
