Isaia to Open Madison Avenue Store

Isaia, the Naples, Italy-based luxury tailored clothing brand, has signed a 15-year lease for 6,000 sq. ft. on multiple levels at 819 Madison Avenue (between 68th and 69th Streets). The property was occupied by the Donna Karan flagship until August last year.

Isaia is sold in better specialty stores and luxury retailers like Barneys, Neiman Marcus and Saks but hasn’t had its own retail store in the U.S. before. A spokesperson for Isaia confirmed the news and said that the company will release an official announcement soon.

The deal was arranged by Lee & Associates managing director Harris C. Bulow and Christopher J. DeCrosta of Crown Retail Services. Friedland Properties is the landlord and the property was listed for $1,400 per sq. ft. on the ground floor and between $350 and $500 per sq. ft. on the other levels.

“819 Madison Avenue was a natural location for Isaia’s New York flagship store,” said Bulow in a statement. “Our real challenge was adapting the space to meet the tenant’s criteria, while leaving the landlord a rentable portion for another party.”
