HECHO PRESENTS SPRING ’19 COLLECTION IN NEW YORK

Hecho
by Stephen Garner

HechoThe spring/summer 2019 collection from destination wear label Hecho draws inspiration from Manuel Solano’s acrylic-on-paper portraits, photographs of Villa Malaparte by Roberto Lombardi, the Instagram account @mechrissmith, Gio Ponti’s collaborative objects, Mick Jagger, Stephen Tennant as photographed by Cecil Beaton, and Diana Vreeland’s New York apartment.

Anchored by a range of tunics and caftans, garments in the assortment are made of habotai silk, striped linen yarn-dyed twill, silk crinkle crepe, handkerchief linen, plaid silk / cotton organdy, ribbed silk / linen, terry cloth toweling and luxe linen knit amongst other fabrics.

HechoThe collection is airy yet tailored and reflects a sensibility that is as practical as it is discerning. Beaded agate trim and embroidered cotton knot detailing are handmade by skilled craftswomen in Mexico City.

Additionally, Hecho is co-creating a range of conceptual garments with Mexican artist Manuel Solano for spring/summer 2019. The pieces will be available for purchase in Mexico City from the independent project space Lulu at Material Art Fair in February 2019.
