Famed textile mill Vitale Barberis Canonico has teamed up with Gladson New York to launch a newly developed learning program, ‘Fabric Academy’, in select U.S. cities in July and August.

The program is a series of live, in-person seminars, introducing guest speaker Simone Ubertino Rosso, who is in charge of the communication office and of the Vitale Barberis Canonico Fabric and Style Academy.

These live events in both Chicago and New York will provide an exclusive look inside the world of Vitale Barberis Canonico, Italy’s oldest mill, which has become a legend throughout the industry.  The subject matter will focus on fabric development and design, style trends and will also provide guidance for more effective selling of clothing made with Barberis fabrics.

Barberis is recognized globally as the gold standard for Made in Italy fabrics, particularly in the world of custom clothing.  The world’s most prestigious designers, fashion houses and bespoke tailors all look to Barberis for the finest Made in Italy Fabrics, which it has been weaving in Biella since 1663.  Fabric development and innovation is a key element of Barberis’s success and an important feature of this learning program.

To complement the luxury fabrics they are famous for they have developed a group of crisp, drier, performance oriented fabrics that are younger, “airier”, more rustic looking than their traditional products and they will be featured in this program.
