GIAN GIACOMO FERRARIS NAMED NEW CEO OF ROBERTO CAVALLI
Italian luxury brand Roberto Cavalli S.p.A. has appointed Gian Giacomo Ferraris as CEO of the company. Both current CEO Renato Semerari and Chairman Francesco Trapani are set to step down officially on September 10. Semerari’s decision to leave the CEO role was due to divergences on the company’s development strategy, while Mr. Trapani will be pursuing other career opportunities.
An engineering graduate and longtime fashion veteran, Ferraris has held major positions at Gucci, the Prada Group Jil Sander and Versace.
“I am happy to join Roberto Cavalli, an iconic fashion brand that I know well and appreciate, loved by celebrities and trendsetters worldwide,” said Ferraris. “In line with the shareholders’ mandate, I am committed to defining and developing new initiatives for the growth of the maison already in the short-term.”
