NEW YORK – Jeff Moorad, a partner in the Arizona Diamondbacks baseball franchise and former head of the sports management firm that bears his name, has been added to the board of directors of Oakley Inc., the performance and fashion eyewear firm.

Moorad will serve on the nominating and corporate governance committee of Oakley’s board which, like all committees of the board, is comprised completely of independent directors. With Moorad’s addition, Oakley’s board has nine members, seven of whom are independent.

Before joining the Diamondbacks’ ownership group in 2004, Moorad was president and chief executive of Moorad Sports Management and, with partner Leigh Steinberg, negotiated more than $3 billion in professional athletic contracts, including deals for Troy Aikman and Manny Ramirez.

Scott Olivet, chief executive and a director of the Foothill Ranch, Calif.-based company, said Moorad’s “wide range of business experiences, unique sports perspective and fit with our culture make him an ideal addition to our team.”
