The C.C. Filson Company has opened its newest location in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle, Washington.

The 1,200 square-foot store, located at 5101 Ballard Avenue, reflects a new community-based retail strategy with a product assortment inspired by the shipbuilders and fishermen of the Ballard community.

Filson joined regional artists and craftsmen to create an original space that reflects local community and culture including master line riggers, traditional Pacific Northwest artists, and local carpenters and woodworkers who specialize in working with local, reclaimed materials. A prize feature is the landmark itself. Built in 1904 and the first designated historic landmark in Ballard, The Hansen Building is a direct link to the true history, stories and people of Ballard.

The product collection will showcase many heritage and iconic pieces familiar from Filson and a handful of custom items specific to the Ballard store; such as limited-edition knitwear, T-shirts, hoodies, bags, caps and items not available anywhere else.

Filson, a Seattle staple since the gold-rush era of 1897, is the leading outfitter and manufacturer of unfailing goods for outdoor enthusiasts.
