Express Express, the 630-store chain of men’s and women’s specialty stores, opened its first factory outlet store. The store, in Tanger Outlets National Harbor in Washington, D.C., opened on Friday.

The retailer plans to open 30 more outlet stores across the country, 15 of which will open by May 1. Those stores are in California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida (three stores), Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, New York, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas (two stores) and Virginia.

“I’m very optimistic about this new part of our business and the associated growth potential,” said CEO Michael Weiss.

“Factory outlets are an important growth initiative for Express, offering us a unique opportunity to acquire new customers by offering great fashion and quality at an amazing value,” added Express VP/GM of outlets Andrew Buck. “We are thrilled to present the Express Factory Outlet as an accessible shopping experience for young fashion-forward women and men.”
