Ecko Expands Callanen Watch Pact

NEW YORK – Marc Ecko Enterprises has agreed to extensions of its licensing agreement with Timex Inc.’s Callanen International subsidiary.

Callanen will hold onto its license for Marc Ecko Watches for an unspecified multiyear term and expand its activities to include numerous international markets in addition to the U.S. Callanen has been an Ecko licensee for more than four years.

In addition, Callanen has been granted the right to develop, market and distribute watches bearing the Avirex brand, now owned by Ecko, in the U.S.

Adam Gurian, Callanen president and chief executive officer, said in a statement, “We are delighted to not only welcome Avirex into the Callanen family, but to continue to strengthen what has already been a wonderful partnership with Marc Ecko Enterprises.”

In addition to its Ecko license, Callanen, based in Norwalk, CT, has rights to brands including Nautica, Versace and Versus.

Ecko was founded in 1993 and its family of brands includes Zoo York, Avirex and, through a joint venture with hip-hop artist 50 Cent, G-Unit.
