NEW YORK – Steele Davidoff has joined Weyco Group as vice president of licensing, a new post.

Davidoff has been president and chief executive officer of Keepers International, the men’s hosiery licensee for Weyco’s Stacy Adams urban dress-up brand. In that capacity, Davidoff and Sid Levine, chairman of Keepers, initiated a program that assisted Weyco in licensing other men’s apparel makers for the Stacy Adams label and coordinating their merchandising, sales and marketing activities. Davidoff said that Levine and Keepers would continue to work with Weyco on the Stacy Adams program.

Davidoff will supervise domestic and international licensing for all Weyco brands, which, in addition to Stacy Adams, include Florsheim, Nunn-Bush and Brass Boot. Weyco is based in Milwaukee, Wisc.

Davidoff’s successor at Keepers is expected to be named shortly.

“We are very enthused about bringing our Stacy Adams licensing business in-house, with Steele Davidoff running it,” said John Florsheim, president and chief operating officer of Weyco, to whom Davidoff reports. “We are looking forward to expanding and strengthening the marketing and licensing of all our brands with other strong and focused manufacturers.”

Davidoff joined Keepers as brand manager 16 years ago and served as chief operating officer before his promotion to CEO. Earlier in his career, he was executive VP of Joel/Cal-Made, a Los Angeles-based sport shirt manufacturer, founder of March Marketing and president of Roam Corp., a women’s social dress company.

He will work from Weyco’s Los Angeles office.
