Dan River Pens Phat Home Licensing Deal

NEW YORK – Dan River is taking Phat Fashions to bed.
Kellwood Co.’s Phat Fashions division said Wednesday that Dan River will develop lines of bedding, bath furnishings and window treatments under the Phat Farm and Baby Phat brand names, with distribution in department and specialty stores slated to commence this fall.
Noting Phat Farm’s status as a pioneer in the development of the hip-hop lifestyle business, Phat Fashions founder and chief executive Russell Simmons said in a statement, “This new generation needs its own native interpretation of the bedding/bath business. We are filling a void and reacting to what our customers have requested.”
