Italian trade show company Pitti Immagine has unveiled even more special events that will take place during the 92nd edition of Pitti Uomo to be held June 13-16 in Florence.

French designer Christian Louboutin will hold a one-of-a-kind project on Tuesday, June 13 where he will host a unique sporting event that will be held in a historic location in the center of Florence, bringing together eight teams from across the globe and highlighting the Christian Louboutin Homme collection. Pitti guests will be invited to not only watch the tournament but also, should they wish, to participate in a series of masterclasses led by the sportsmen themselves. “Florence to me has always been a city of leisure,” said Louboutin. “For the first time, I am happy to mix leisure and the pleasure of my work there.”

“We are very pleased that iconic luxury shoe designer Christian Louboutin, renowned throughout the world for his signature red soles, and whom Pitti Immagine has always followed with interest, has chosen Florence to launch a new project,” added Raffaello Napoleone, general manager of Pitti Immagine. “It will be a very special event, which will involve not only the fashion community but the entire city of Florence.”

Additionally, Fondazione Pitti Immagine Discovery is continuing its mission of promoting Italian fashion designers who have international stature by presenting Federico Curradi and Alanui with special events to take place during the fair.

Federico Curradi will present the preview of his own label’s men’s collection for spring/summer 2018 and special event on Wednesday, June 14 at the Museo Bardini. “I chose the Museo Bardini as the venue for my event,” commented Curradi, “a place that speaks of history and symbolizes ‘Florentineness’. My fashion show will tell about a Florence that has many spirits: the craftsmanship traditions, the straightforwardness of the people, romanticism, and the tradition of the calcio in costume. The key figure is the romantic warrior who embodies the artistic essence of our city.”

“It’s been a few seasons now that we have been monitoring Federico Curradi’s career path and the development of his creativity that combines urban functionalism, research on fabrics and a marked need for originality,” said Lapo Cianchi, Pitti Immagine Director of Communications and Events, and the man in charge of the Fondazione Pitti Immagine Discovery. “His work can be best defined as contemporary styling, and once again, we are very happy to offer him the Pitti Uomo stage and its audience.”

Alanui will be making its premiere showing at Pitti Uomo this coming season. The nomad-chic project launched by brother-and-sister team Nicolò and Carlotta Oddi in 2016 springs from an around-the-world trip. Alanui will stage a special event on Thursday, June 15 at the Tepidarium del Roster.

“It’s a contemporary, cutting-edge style that immediately attracted our attention because it combines the excellence of Italian yarns with cosmopolitan inspiration,” added Cianchi. “That is why we were so happy to invite Alanui to present their fine, ethno-chic single-product to Pitti Uomo’s outstanding audience.”
