NEW YORK – Caulfeild Apparel Group Ltd. has been licensed to sell and distribute the David Chu Collection and the designer’s LINCS DC & Co. sportswear in Canada, the first international license for the designer’s follow-up venture to Nautica.

Caulfeild was founded in Toronto in 1886 as a retailer of British woolens. It is today one of Canada’s leading apparel wholesalers.

“We are very pleased that Caulfeild Canada, with its exceptionally strong presence throughout Canada, will be our partner in expanding the David Chu and LINCS brands internationally,” Chu, designer and chief executive of DC Design International, said in a statement.

Michael Purkis, president of Caulfeild, commented, “Our customers have a fine appreciation of style and quality, and we anticipate a strong response from specialty stores.”

The license was issued by DC Licensing LLC, the licensing entity of DC Design International.

Chu launched his eponymous collection for Fall 2005. LINCS DC & Co., a lifestyle collection of men’s sportswear and outerwear, will launch this fall at Saks Fifth Avenue, Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom’s and other better specialty stores.
