Capsule and ReedReed Exhibitions, which acquired Agenda a year ago, has added Capsule to its fashion trade show portfolio. The terms of the deal were not disclosed but Capsule founders Edina Sultanik, Minya Quirk and Deirdre Maloney will stay on to continue to run the shows.

Reed, one of the biggest trade show operators in the world with 500 events in 42 countries, acquired the Agenda action sports show in January 2013. Reed also runs New York Comic Con, the comic book-driven pop culture show.

Capsule was founded in 2007 as a men’s apparel show in New York and has grown to 12 shows a year in New York, Berlin, Las Vegas and Paris. Founders Maloney, Quirk and Sultanik also operate BPMW, an agency that does public relations, wholesale, events and fashion shows.

“The decision to partner with Reed was easy for us,” Sultanik said in an email to clients and press. “We have faced challenges in our six year history; of being independent, the underdog, a firm of a few people working on a global level…with big ideas and a lot of heart. We’ve enjoyed every step along the way and we’re ready to avail ourselves of all the resources and expertise that the folks at Reed can offer.”

She added, “We hope to maintain the integrity and vibes of our shows, while creating a better experience overall for our exhibitors and visitors.”

“We feel that Capsule is a great cultural fit with our growing fashion portfolio, and a great addition to what we’re doing with the Agenda events,” said Reed SVP Greg Topalian in a statement. “The team’s dedication to the feel, authenticity and respect for the market it serves has been, and will continue to be, the keys to Capsule’s success.”

Capsule’s next show is in Berlin from January 14-15, followed by Paris from January 17-19 and New York January 21-22. Capsule Las Vegas is scheduled for February 17-19.
