New York-based fashion label Cadet will be a “Featured Designer” at Baker Motor Company Charleston Fashion Week 2016, to be held March 15-19. The military-inspired brand was established in Brooklyn in 2011 by Raul Arevalo and Brad Schmidt and now shows a full menswear collection of suiting, shirts, pants, outerwear and knits that captures the spirit and nostalgia of post-war America. Cadet is launching a women’s ready-to-wear line this spring.

Cadet currently has three brick-and-mortar locations in New York City and will begin a new relationship with Amazon next spring. Its celebrity fans include actor Ben Stiller, singer Nick Jonas, and Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.

“Cadet is an incredible addition to our exclusive featured designer line-up,” said Naomi Russell, executive director of Charleston Fashion Week. “They’re ‘it’ designers who’ve built their brand on creativity and entrepreneurial spirit – a perfect representation of Charleston Fashion Week. We can’t wait to see them in action on our runway.”
