Bedrock Manufacturing acquires Filson

SEATTLE—Outdoor heritage brand Filson has been acquired by Dallas-based Bedrock Manufacturing Co. for an undisclosed amount. The sale was announced today by Filson’s previous owner, the private equity group Brentwood Associates.

Brentwood partner Roger Goddu commented, “The Filson management team under [CEO] Mark Korros’ leadership has done a tremendous job executing on the company’s growth initiatives. The team has broadened Filson’s product offering in core outdoor categories while also expanding the offering of casual apparel, luggage and accessories. Filson CEO Mark Korros added, “Brentwood has been an extremely supportive partner, providing us with the resources necessary to revitalize our products and to increase sales across multiple channels. Brentwood’s multi-channel marketing expertise has helped accelerate growth at Filson and has positioned Filson well for continued success with Bedrock.”

Filson was founded in 1897 by C.C. Filson to supply Klondike Gold Rush stampeders with outdoor apparel and blankets. The company makes men’s and women’s apparel and workwear for outdoor activity, hunting, fishing and travel.
