French luxury brand Balenciaga has opened the doors to a new shop in Miami’s Design District. Located at 153 North East 40th Street, the new two-level store feature’s the brand’s full line of men’s and women’s clothing and accessories.

The store was custom built for this specific location, with a striking use of functional solar panels as part of its facade, which is unique in the brand’s retail network. The pale blue panels are installed above clear glass windows at street-level, with large-scale luminous Balenciaga lettering visible from the street.

The interior and furnishings continue the industrial-meets-luxury environment, which creative director Demna Gvasalia has created for the brand’s Paris flagship stores at Rue Saint-Honoré and Avenue Montaigne. Several elements of a state-of-the-art clothing factory are integrated into the store, harkening back to the industrial elements of the design.

The first floor displays the women’s collection with an exposed ceiling and the second floor, dedicated to menswear, has a pink all over Balenciaga logo-printed carpet.
