American Apparel’s new CEO Paula Schneider continues her hiring campaign with Brian McHale as SVP and chief information officer. McHale, who has 25 years of IT experience with companies like Verizon and DirecTV, started on April 13. He reports to CFO Hassan Natha.

“As we continue to implement our multi-year turnaround, Brian will be an important asset to the company,” said Schneider in a statement. “Brian brings deep experience in his area of expertise, which will undoubtedly have a significant and positive impact on American Apparel.”

McHale will be responsible for all computer systems and information technology at American Apparel. He will also work with new chief digital officer Thoryn Stephens on “the development and expansion of the company’s retail digital capabilities.”

American Apparel hired former Band of Outsiders designer Joseph Pickman as its new head of men’s design in April.
